SMCA of Philadelphia Assists in Creating a Resolution to Bring
Awareness to Opioid Usage by Construction Workers

Warminster — Pennsylvania House of Representatives unanimously supported a resolution declaring the last full week of July as “Construction Opioid Awareness Week.” The Sheet Metal Contractors Association of Philadelphia and Vicinity (SMCA) worked with its state-wide counterpart SMACNA of PA, construction associations and labor organizations across the Commonwealth to launch this initiative.

SMCA of Philadelphia is proud to announce that SMACNA’s Director Nominating Committee has released its slate of candidates to fill four positions on SMACNA’s Board of Directors. Gary Luthe, of SMCA Philadelphia member firm Luthe Sheet Metal, Inc., is one of the nominees, and will likely become a SMACNA Director when the vote is taken at the Annual Convention in Maui, Hawaii, this October.

SMCA of Philadelphia has a rich tradition of supplying leaders on a national level. That tradition continues as the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) has announced it is drafting representatives of SMCA Member Firms to its national committees.
