Monkeypox declared public health emergency

The Biden administration has declared the monkeypox outbreak to be a public health emergency in the U.S. today. A public health emergency declaration lasts for 90 days, but can be extended. Please be aware of any of the symptoms listed below:

- Flu-like symptoms that include a fever, headache, muscle aches, back ache, sore throat, cough, swollen lymph nodes, chills, or exhaustion.

- If someone has flu-like symptoms, they will usually develop a rash 1-4 days later.

- Rash near genitals, hands, feet, chest, or face. The rash can look like pimples or blisters and may be painful or itchy.
