Find Your Place at SMCA
Get involved in the work that's shaping our industry.
Committee work is the most direct way SMCA members influence the future of sheet metal contracting in Philadelphia. Whether you've been at it for decades or you're stepping up for the first time, there's a committee for you.
WHY JOIN A COMMITTEE
Sharpen your business. Education, Technical, and market-sector committees pool what's working across firms — so you don't have to reinvent the wheel at yours.
Build your network. You'll work side-by-side with the contractors and labor partners whose decisions affect your business.
Shape what SMCA does. Committees decide what programs we offer, what training we develop, and what positions we take on policy.
Grow into leadership. Many of SMCA's officers and directors started right here.
WHO CAN JOIN
Any active SMCA member can volunteer for most committees. A few groups have specific eligibility requirements:
- Director-level committees (Negotiating, Budget & Finance, JATC, Legislative, etc.) are reserved for members of the SMCA Board of Directors.
- Industry Fund Trustee committees are governed by the Industry Fund Trust document.
- Legislative Committee participation is open to active Congressional Insiders Club (CIC) members.
Not sure if you qualify? Reach out — we'll help you find your fit.
